Open question: what do you think is the key to retiring early?

Open question:

Before I get to deep into the details, what thoughts do you have about retiring early, and on your own timeline?

I’ll keep this post open for a while as I try to develop more interest in the site.

Treating every $5 spending decision with it’s long term impact (including the time value of money) in mind, and considering if you’re being a good steward of the resources God has entrusted you with in that moment in time =)

Knowing what your priorities are and knowing the difference between what you need and what you want. Do you need food and shelter? Yes. Do you need all the latest tech toys, DVDs, a high-end new car? Probably not. Is your priority the new stuff or early retirement? A tough decision for many people. Especially since we live in an “instant pudding” society!

Actually, Fred did! He always says that people these days want everything instantly, and do not want to work for anything. Instant pudding may be quicker, but pudding that is slow cooked is much more satisfying!
